Set up the PC you want to control

Install gabutbanget on that Windows PC. You can then connect to it from a browser on another computer or phone.

Downloads and verifies the installation files before making changes. Internet required.

Download full installer
Includes the app. WebView2 is not bundled; setup downloads it only if missing. Offline installation requires WebView2 already installed. Internet is needed for enrollment and remote access.

From download to your first connection

Install on the target PC
Open the downloaded installer on the Windows PC you want to control. If Windows asks for permission, review the app name and publisher before approving the installation.
Get a one-time enrollment code
In the browser you will connect from, open the Web Viewer (new tab). Sign in or create an account. In Address Book, choose Enroll a new device, then Generate enrollment code.
Link the PC to your account
Paste the code into the installation wizard and select Next. Keep the Web Viewer open while it finishes. You can also choose Set up later and enroll from the desktop app when ready.
Connect from your browser
Return to Address Book in the same browser and select the enrolled PC. Keep the target PC powered on and connected to the internet.

I downloaded the installer on the wrong computer

Open this download page on the Windows PC you want to control and install it there. Your phone or viewing computer only needs the Web Viewer.

The enrollment code expired or was already used

Return to Enroll a new device in the Web Viewer and generate a new code. Enter the new code in the desktop app. Each code works once; its expiry is shown beside it.

The desktop app says the host service is not connected

A new code will not fix a disconnected host service. Finish installation, then close and reopen the desktop app. If it still cannot connect, open its logs and check the troubleshooting guide before trying enrollment again.
